Michael Behm, Ph.D., CSP, is an associate professor in the Occupational Safety Program at East Carolina University. He is an active member of NIOSH’s Construction Sector Occupational Research and Prevention Through Design councils. In 2011, Behm was awarded a research fellowship with the Singapore National Parks Board, Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology, to study safe design aspects of urban greenery systems. He is joint coordinator of the Working Commission on Safety and Health in Construction for the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction in The Netherlands. He holds a Ph.D. from Oregon State University.
